Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and the 7th EU FP project InnovaBalt have a great honour to invite you to participate in the Drug Discovery Conference, taking place August 27-29, 2015 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvia, Riga, Latvia. The Drug Discovery conference will cover topics starting from organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry to biological and pharmacological applications of novel ligands. Conference scientific program and discussions will be organized for chemists in organic and analytical chemistry and process development, as well as pharmacologists and biologists to present investigations of mechanistic aspects of developmental drugs. Session for the stakeholders will be organized. There will be a satellite seminar dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compound journal

WELCOME LETTER


          It is our privilege and pleasure to welcome you to the Drug Discovery Conference taking place in Riga. DDC2015 is organized by the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis, and the EC 7th Framework Program project „Strengthening the research and innovative capacities of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis, the leading Baltic regional centre for drug discovery”, InnovaBalt.
          The aim of the DDC2015 is to bring together researchers exploring novel drug candidates and targets for applications in different therapeutic areas. In addition, DDC2015 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compound journal and commemorate the history of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and drug discovery in Latvia.
          Exchange of opinions and communication are the most important components in the progress of scientific ideas. We are happy to present the scientific program of the DDC2015 covering different aspects of drug discovery in plenary lectures, oral presentations and poster sessions. The DDC2015 has attracted about 290 participants from 25 countries.
          We hope that you will enjoy the DDC2015 and that your interactions with colleagues from different countries will stimulate a creative exchange of ideas and collaborative research projects in the future. We also hope that you will find time to explore and discover the very beautiful and exciting city of Riga.
